Who this is for
Deepen understanding and sharpen responses to demanding questions.
Strengthen C/B-level foundations and practise consistently.
Revisit earlier topics affecting current content and synoptic questions.
Build knowledge and accountability for Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering or STEM.
For students who know the content but need help turning it into marks.
Why Chemistry can feel difficult
A-Level Chemistry is cumulative. Students need to connect earlier concepts, calculate accurately and apply precise language in unfamiliar contexts.
Regular practice helps surface gaps while there is time to address them.
The programme centrepiece
Mir is Academic Lead and architect of the SciencebyMir teaching system. Trained subject specialists deliver selected Mastery sessions within the same programme, assessment and lesson standards.
TEACH · UNDERSTAND · COVER THE SPECIFICATION
Core Teaching builds specification understanding through clear explanations and worked examples. The weekly Core session is one hour in Year 12 and 1.5 hours in Year 13; Core lessons are recorded for catch-up and revision.
APPLY · CALCULATE · REFINE EXAM TECHNIQUE
Question-led practice turns knowledge into marks. Students apply concepts, work through calculations and correct misconceptions.
A typical study cycle
Specification ideas explained clearly.
Work through questions and calculations.
Keep current and earlier topics active.
Identify gaps and get feedback.
Return to Core teaching for catch-up and revision.
Teaching sample
A concept is taught and understanding is tested immediately. Misconceptions or gaps are identified, then the concept is retaught where needed and tested again before progression.
